EcoCARE Pacific Trust - Health

Health

There are immense resources and facilities available for health care and EcoCARE is involved in acquiring and transporting these to hospitals in Tonga. The development of local capacity through education, mentoring and supervision plays a significant role in the ongoing sustainable development of nations. To that end EcoCARE Pacific Trust participates and initiates projects and programs that compliment and expand on the already excellent work being done by the varying Pacific Health Ministries. We are involved with resource acquisition, tertiary scholarships, establishing remote learning for undergraduate degree courses, developing postgraduate and postdoctoral projects supervised by UC staff.

A container was sent in February to the Ministry of Health in Tonga to supplement their already stretched resources. The container included hospital beds, mattresses, sheets, pillow cases and numerous other essential items.
